Free Mate

It all goes back to a trip to Berlin in 2013 when Edouard (see photo), founder of Mate Libre, discovers a German yerba mate drink that his friend Seb introduces to him.

It was a revelation. It had to exist in Montreal, across Canada, everywhere really! But it had to be done correctly and in accordance with our values: organic farming, using real yerba mate leaves (no extracts!), low in sugar, absolutely no “natural” flavors or other laboratory creations, fair trade, but above all absolutely delicious!

3 years of trial and error began in the kitchen of Edouard’s apartment in Montreal, sourcing the best ingredients in the world. He would not stop until the taste was absolutely perfect and balanced. Voila!

Mate Libre is officially launched in 2019.  Their energizing yerba mate infusions are here to revolutionize the way we drink!
